The Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization which offers friendship and understanding to families who are grieving the death of a child of any age, from any cause. There is no religious affiliation. There are no membership fees or dues, and all bereaved family members are welcome. A California non-profit corporation, founded to help parents, their families and their healthcare providers cope with the loss of a baby before, during, or after birth. HAND is a resource network of parents, professionals, and supportive volunteers offering a variety of services throughout Northern California and the Central Valley. There are no fees for services.

The National Organization of Parents of Murdered Children, Inc. (POMC)
POMC provides the ongoing emotional support needed to help parents and other survivors facilitate the reconstruction of a "new life" and to promote a healthy resolution. Not only does POMC help survivors deal with their acute grief, but with the criminal justice system as well. The staff of the National Headquarters of POMC will assist any survivor and, if possible, link that survivor with others in the same vicinity who have survived their loved one's murder. In addition, the staff is available to provide individual assistance, support and advocacy. The staff will also help interested parents or immediate family members form a chapter of POMC in their community.

SANDS
Is a voluntary self-help organisation comprised in the main of parents who have experienced the death of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or within days of birth. SANDS provides support, both immediate and on-going, from other parents who have experienced these losses. Sharing with others who have suffered similar experiences can assist parents to work through the often intense grief which follows the death of a baby.
